Wow, so since Lauren updated I suppose i can.  Ha, it's been so freakin long since i've wrote on here that i think i'm going to have to take up like a whole page.  Anyways, lets start with this.  Incase you dont know - Rick and I have moved to North Carolina.  Big step for both of us - infact i'm surprised that we did.  I got offered a job at Northwood Elementary school in High Point North Carolina.  I know - furniture capital of the world.  No?  Okay - home of Fantasia Burino - last years American Idol.  Wow, how could we ever get so lucky.  So me, rick and Deisel moved down here about a week and a half ago...no- about 2 weeks ago and we're actually making it on our own...oaky with a little help from mom and dad.  So anyways, i start teaching at the school on the 24th or something liek that.  I cant wait.  I will be teachinng 3rd grade and I am so excited.

On the other hand, rick and i got a puppy.  We had to get rid of his dog Brutis that he had...thanks go to stacy and the boys for that one.  So we decided to get a Boxer puppy.  We named him Dozer and i think he's so stupid sometimes, he's just puppy dumb.  Anyways...

plans for the wedding are moving along.  I ordered my dress and it should be in any time.  My veil is in now.  Yeah!  Jen and Lauren and Cameron and Stacy and I went and picked out bridesmaid dresses and got fitted for them and everything.  I guess that Amber has decided that she's not goin to be in it.  I'm not sure why but i'm kinda hurt by it.  I was so excited when lauren said that she would be in it.  I guess after all this time it shows who your true friends are.  LIke i guess i'm just hurt and i know that this doesnt have anything to do with wedding plans but i'm gonna say this now.  the night before we left to come down here, I had told Amber and Lauren that we were having a kinda party for people to come over and see us before we left.  Lauren called and said that she wouldnt be able to make it because Shaun was sick.  Amber actually told me that she would be over and never showed up.  Nice...so my point goes - i guess that you know who your true friends are.

Snow day! Wahoo!!!! Wow, so i called off school yesterday becasue i was sick. Damn the flu.  I guess that's what happens when your around about 15 snotty nosed kids all day.  So i spend pretty much the whole day in bed.  After that i watched American Idol...i'm so voting for that country girl and then that other guy with the long hair.  If you watch AI i'm sure you know who i'm talking about.  Anyways, then i went to Phi Mu's COB.  Interesting to say the least.  We held our own American Idol...Phi Mu Idol.  It was almost like the real thing with the good and the bad singers and the "i just want to be here for attention" singers.

So then i went to bed last night thinking that i was going to dread today and have a sore throat all day and it would be the worst day of my life.  I was startled out of a very deep sleep by my great roomie saying "AMANDA! DONT GET UP!  THERE IS NO SCHOOL TODAY!"  I was confused but took her word for it, rolled over in bed and slept until 11.  I love snow days.  The thing is is that there was like 1 inch of snow and the roads were clear?!  They said "there could be ice under the snow".  So hey, great for me, i slept in and got some lesson plans done.  I'm completely ahead of schedule now!  Yeah!

I was supposed to go down to see Rick today.  I really miss him so much.  It's really hard with him working and me student teaching because i cant go up to see him and he cant come and see me.  he works from 5-2:30 everyday and i'm at school from 8-3 ish.  We both come home and take naps and then eat and then go to bed.  We have both had people tell us that "distance makes the heart grow fonder"...yeah great but when we get to see each other, mom and dad are there.  We have no alone time.  So i'm thinking of going somewhere with him for his b-day...just him and I possibly.  I'm not sure where i'm going to take him though. I was thinking that i would take him to Canada but i'm not sure that the falls would be unfrozen by March/April.  Ugh, if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Update on student teaching...this is great, for those of you that dont know, my kids are so smart.  I teach 3rd grade and love it.  One came up to me the other day and said "Miss T., wanna know what i just found out?"  "Sure, what?"  "I just realized that my birthday is on the same day as the day i was born...!?!!???"  (It was one of those moments where i almost said "duh"...but really...) so i said "REally?! that's awesome..."  So okay, about a week later, same kid comes up to me and points to another in our class.  He says "did you know that he's my cousin?"  "Nope, didnt kow that"...."yeah well, i hug my cousin"  (other kid) "yeah well, we're step cousins so you dont have to hug me..."  (smrt Kid looks at me): "yeah but you know what?!, His brother is my cousin too!"  That's just great....i mean really, he's in third grade.  I"m worried about the future if we have children saying this...arent you?

Anyways, The simple life calls me and then more American Idol...yeah!  Hows that for updating....

Okay, wow, so i know it's been awhile and I have like no time to even begin posting all of the time.  I was just kinda wonderin around on the web and realized that i could play around wiht this and see what i could come up with as a new background on my page.  I'm bored with the one i have and i needed something new.  Havent looked at anythin yet but i'll find something. 

Anyways, so who would believe that Rick andi would end up engaged.  it still blows me away and i see the beautiful ring that he gave me ever day.  LIke we both talk about it and neither of us thought in the beginning it would amount to anything more than friends. He basicaly said that he had no interest in "us" in the beginning...so well i guess neither did I.  Older guy...other girl with big boobs...yeah why would he have looked at me?  So then we start talkign and that just evolves to a little more and here we are engaged.  and the thing is...I miss him like crazy and he's the same way.  It was never like taht with Rich...What was i thinking thinking all the crazy stuff about rich.  Rick is so much more awesome than i could have ever thought my life could have.  he is amazing to me.  I love him to death.

By the way...the date for the wedding is officially June 24th, 2006.  WE're getting married at St. Joesephs Catholic Church in Canton at 6.  YEAH!!!!  The monsenior said that all rick has to do is buy me a ring and rent a tux.  Nice....we thought he was going to have to get baptized.  lol that would have been funny.   Well i'mgonna play around with this background stuff...
